Pablo Ríos: Una voz del pueblo salvadoreño

Musica.com.sv despide a un grande de la música romántica nacional, Pablo Ríos. Un hombre que luchó mucho tiempo de su vida contra un cáncer que terminó consumiendo sus días se despidió el día de ayer del mundo terrenal.
Pablo Ríos libró en su diario vivir una dura batalla contra el cáncer de próstata.
Juan Pablo Torres, como es su verdadero nombre, nació en San Vicente, Guadalupe, el 26 de junio de 1933. Integró la famosa Orquesta Barahona (ya desaparecida). Su música ha sido programada en radios de países como Colombia, Puerto Rico y Estados Unidos, entre varios más.
Washington, San Francisco y Nueva York, fueron lugares que recibieron el talento de este grande de la canción salvadoreña. En estos mismos países cantó al lado de estrellas como Marco Antonio Muñiz y Armando Manzanero.
Pablo siempre tuvo especial dedicación y devoción a las madres salvadoreñas. Cada 10 de mayo de todos los años dedicaba un recital a las madresitas.
En su legado, Pablo Ríos dejó más de 10 discos LP, 14 sencillos, 16 casetes y dos discos compactos que recopilan muchos de sus grandes éxitos y canciones inéditas.
La Asamblea Legislativa, en el 2002 le otorgó un pergamino con el título de “Artista distinguido”. Ese mismo año varios artistas rindieron un concierto tributo al grande de la canción cuscatleca, en el participaron Fiebre Amarilla, Los Tacuacines de Oriente, los solistas José Montoya, Tony Acosta, Joaquín Velasco (desde Estados Unidos), así como Vicente Aguiluz “el Indio de Cuscatlán”, los payasos Pildorín y Chisito y el mismo Ríos.
Recién el año pasado, los cuatro jóvenes ganadores del “Primer Festival Juvenil de la Canción” tuvieron el placer de compartir el micrófono con el recién fallecido Ríos.
Ya para este Año Nuevo del 2006 la salud del cantante empeoró. Fue internado en el hospital Zacamil el 27 de diciembre. El cancer de próstata lo iba consumiendo cada vez más.
Para la mañana de ayer, Pablo Ríos se convertía en una leyenda más de la música nacional. Con 73 años deja un enorme legado para los jóvenes que inician su carrera artística en los escenarios salvadoreños… Gracias Pablo y que descanse en paz.
